The Cull…

Cue dramatic music because quite frankly the thought of me getting rid of books as opposed to shipping reams in is, quite frankly, ridiculous.

Book Cull

I always find getting rid of books eminently stressful, which is why I have been putting it off for several years.

Following recent over-indulgence in the book-buying stakes (see here for the details) I could really put it off too much longer, so with that in mind I invited my parents over for brute strength and we did an entire bookshelf.

Now yes, I am an adult, but having parental guidance meant I couldn’t sneak books back onto the shelf that had been discarded!

I don’t know about you, but my mind works in mysterious ways.  I might not have read a book in years, have no intention of ever re-reading and yet the minute I put it in the “to go” pile, it becomes the most desirous tome in my library.  I did, however remain strong and culled in the region of 40 books.  There is even…drum roll please…space on the shelf for more books! It was entirely a win-win morning’s work!

Farewell old friends.  You have served me well.
